O

Okay, this one was tough to choose – we have so many great wedding venues here in Scotland. After much deliberation we have picked our top 25 venues from weddings we photographed in 2008…

Cringletie House – The setting is beautiful and the wedding guests love the chance to play croquet on the lawns!

The Caves
– Incredibly atmospheric and the perfect place for a party.

Howies – Has such a warm and welcoming vibe, we had a fantastic time here at a wedding in November.

Museum of Scotland – Visually stunning, there are so many good spots for photos here!

Traquair House – Cupid’s Garden is the perfect romantic setting for an outdoor wedding, we had a beautiful day here in August.

Fortingall Hotel – A striking location and it snowed when we were here in November!

The Dome – Knows how to celebrate Christmas!

Neidpath Castle – Authentic and atmospheric; the rain poured but the play continued.

Pittodrie House – Fantastic location, we photographed a wonderful reception, complete with fireworks display here.

Crieff Hydro – A grand venue with great features, lots of places to explore!

Paisley Abbey – Breathtakingly beautiful. We photographed the wedding of Laura & Derek here in April and it featured in Real Life Weddings magazine.

Melville Castle – Great hospitality in a lovely setting. We were here several times in 2008 and had a blast.

Fingask Castle – Quirky and unique. We were here in August and again in December. Look out for this venue in the next issue of Real Life Weddings magazine!

The George Hotel – Quite possibly the best chandelier we have seen. One of our favourite reception venues.

Dalhousie Castle – The castle is full of character and is the perfect setting for a Scottish wedding.

St Giles Cathedral – This imposing building has a striking interior and it was a joy to photograph a wedding there.

The Hub – A wonderful blend of the old and the new, we love this place!

Fettes College – Far too gorgeous for a school. We’re looking forward to working here again this year.

The Torridon – Amazing location. Our bride and groom tried out sea kayaking and clay pigeon shooting on the morning of the wedding!

Mar Hall – A gothic delight. We were here in March and again in June and we look forward to returning.

Mansfield Traquair – Too beautiful for words. We can’t wait to go back.

The Balmoral Hotel – Classy and elegant. We regularly photograph weddings at The Balmoral and it is consistently excellent.

Prestonfield – Delightfully decadent, we had a wonderful time at The Stables in December with Raffy, Tim and their guests.

Fyvie Castle – Beautiful setting and a striking interior. Our last wedding of 2008 took place at Fyvie Castle and it was the perfect way to end an amazing year.

The Lodge, Loch Goil – Quite simply stunning. And where else can you get married in a tree house, by a loch?
