Alex & Rich’s wedding at Cameron House, Loch Lomond

One of our favourite things about this time of year is that we get to catch up on our blogging. And we have been so very excited about sharing Alex & Rich’s day!

Aside from winning last year’s prize for being based in the most enviable location (they live in Bermuda, but Scotland holds a very special place in their hearts), Alex and Rich also gave us one of our most exciting moments of the year. It all started with an email asking if we were scared of flying (ehm, where do we sign up?!).

And so it was that on a beautiful autumn day we got to capture all the love, joy, laughter and fabulous dancing, that they and their wonderful friends and family brought to Cameron House. From the emotional first look in the woods to the seaplane flight over Loch Lomond and the surrounding hills, it was one seriously beautiful day.

Alex & Rich – We have absolutely loved getting to know you both over the past year, and are already missing your smiles and chat! We hope married life is treating you very well so far and watch out, we may just take you up on that offer to visit sometime…

Absolutely powerful and moving images! So good!

2016 Highlights

From watching the Northern Lights over the North-east of Scotland to visiting the beaches and lava fields of Iceland (and going for midnight troll hunts with our little girl!), it’s been quite a year of adventures.

Some of our other favourite moments are captured here in the most liked 9 photos on our Instagram – like when Jay got to join Alex & Rich on a scenic seaplane flight over Loch Lomond before their wedding ceremony this autumn. It was pretty breathtaking stuff!

We have loved getting to work with so many wonderful people in such incredible places this year and can’t wait to get out with our cameras and photograph all the love stories and adventures 2017 will bring!

Until then, have a merry Hogmanay and a very happy New Year!

Let it snow

We hope you’re all having a lovely, chilled festive break (you’ll be full of cheese, whisky and unsure of exactly what day it is if you’re anything like us!).

We’ve been away chasing snow over Christmas (and in Jay’s case kilometres as he tries to complete a 500km road cycle challenge by the 31st). You can follow his progress over on Instagram if you’d like to see more on that. (And here’s our Elemental Instagram, in case you haven’t found us there yet).

We’re looking forward to catching up on our blogging over the coming weeks and sharing more of what we’ve been up to lately. It’s been an action packed year what with relocating to the countryside, our travels taking us to Canada, the USA, Iceland, Spain and Denmark, and lots of incredible shoots and weddings along the way.

Thanks to everyone who has made it such a great one. And wishing you all a very merry Hogmanay and lots of adventures in the New Year.

Jenna & Dan’s wedding at Drumtochty Castle, Aberdeenshire

We are always happy when our wedding travels take us to this part of Aberdeenshire. With its enveloping woods, quaint church and magical castle, there’s something so very special about Drumtochty Glen.

From the clay pigeon shooting in the morning to the bouncing dancefloor at night, Jenna & Dan’s wedding was full of fun, laughter, love and joy. It was an incredible day and we loved that they were so up for hitting the hills, despite the wind and rain.

Jenna & Dan – We loved getting to be part of your day and meeting all your wonderful friends and family. We hope your photos make you smile for many years to come.

Jillian & Steve’s wedding at The Walled Garden at Strathtyrum, St Andrews

Please excuse the blogging hiatus, we’re at the “whoa, where did the summer go?!” stage of wedding season. This happens every year, and yet somehow takes us a little by surprise each time! On the plus side, this means that we’ve got a ton of photos to share with you and we are very excited to be starting our catch up with Jillian & Steve’s super stylish and seriously fun day.

We’re always happy when our wedding travels take us to St Andrews – there’s something so very special about this little coastal town. And this time we were getting to explore a new (to us) place too, The Walled Garden at Strathtyrum. It was the perfect setting for a day full of beautiful, super sweet and fun moments. If we had to pick a favourite it would be the arrival of a page boy in a Lamborghini. Or maybe the big shapes being thrown not he dance floor. Or the hilarity during the speeches. We’ll let you decide…

Jillian & Steve – Thanks so much for inviting us along for the ride, we loved getting to capture your wedding story and hope the photos make you smile for many years to come.
