Victoria & Tom’s wedding at the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh

Our last wedding of 2015 was full of winter magic. On a crisp, December day the Great Hall of the Royal College of Physicians – decorated with hundreds of candles and more than a little sparkle – was the perfect place to be!

We first met Victoria back in 2011, when she was a bridesmaid at Vikki & Gavin’s wedding, so it was extra special to get to photograph her own wedding four years on. And how incredible is her dress by the way!

After a wonderful, personal ceremony (complete with a song written especially for them!), we were lucky enough to be able to pop over the road to Queen Street Gardens with Victoria and Tom, and catch the last light of the day. It was more than a little magical.

Then it was back into the warmth of the New Library, where the party was just beginning to get started…

Victoria & Tom – Thanks for closing our year on such a beautiful note! We loved getting to capture your day and hope you enjoy your preview! C&J x

2015 Wedding Photography Highlights

2015 – where to even begin?! Perhaps we’ll start with some firsts – 2015 saw us photographing our first four day wedding festival, our first bride on a bucking broncho (way to go Chelsea!) and our first post ceremony pier jump! Add in that this was the first year that same sex marriage was legal in Scotland, and it’s been an all-round awesome year!

It was also the year that we began to dream about an exciting new adventure – more on that later, but a little clue is that it was inspired by an incredible wedding we photographed in the Scottish Highlands last summer.

From intimate destination weddings in Scottish castles to outdoor beach ceremonies, 2015 was full of joy & laughter, incredible places and wonderful moments. And we were lucky to meet so many fantastic folk along the way. Somehow, we seemed to collect even more midge bites than usual on our travels through Scotland, but they were so worth it.

Thank you a million to everyone who shared the ride with us and we can’t wait to share all the beautiful little moments, love and adventures that 2016 is set to bring!

P.S. We’ve already photographed our first wedding of 2016 and, believe it or not, it was outdoors and involved a hike to a breathtaking setting! All will be revealed soon, once our lovely couple have the chance to share the news of their Scottish elopement with their families. So exciting!

Mel & Chris’ wedding at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry

Back in November, we got to be part of something incredibly special – Mel & Chris were the winners of the We Fell In Love wedding competition, and became husband and wife in an amazing celebration at Hopetoun House. It was a magical day, full of smiles, love and laughter, and we had the best time being part of it! You can see more photos from their day and read all about the incredible team involved here – Mel & Chris.

Clare & Ben’s wedding at Crichton Collegiate Church & Oxenfoord Castle

After all these years photographing weddings here in Scotland, we’re still getting to explore new (to us!) places and venues – which makes us very happy! Situated amidst scenic rolling hills just outside Edinburgh, Crichton Church is one of Scotland’s oldest collegiate churches at more than 500 years old. Clare & Ben became husband and wife in this incredibly picturesque setting, and then it was on to Oxenfoord Castle for a celebration that was full of love and laughter.

Despite the weather being pretty wintry in the days before (think horizontal sleet and gales!), the big day was a crisp, autumnal day which allowed us to explore the grounds with the newlyweds. Kudos to Clare & Ben for braving the goosebumps for these photos!

It was a wonderful day to be part of! And getting to catch up with their good friends, Victoria & Gavin, whose wedding we photographed back in 2011, was a bonus too!

Clare & Ben – We hope these highlights of your day bring back lots of fantastic memories. And there are lots more still to come! C&J x
