Carmel & Robin’s wedding at St Fillan’s and St Alphonsus, Doune & Altskeith House, Aberfoyle

We first discovered Loch Ard in the Trossachs a few years ago when we went in search of snowy scenes to photograph early one winter’s morning. It stole our hearts that day and we have loved returning to the area ever since. So we were incredibly excited when Carmel & Robin got in touch to tell us all about their plans.

Their wedding was a relaxed, laughter-filled affair, with a very special VIP guest playing a starring role in the ceremony. From the super pretty flowers to the hot pink wellies (I am so lusting after a pair of those now!) to the bouncy castle, it was a day packed with colour and fun. And is that beach not just one of the most beautiful places to start your new adventure as husband and wife?!

Carmel & Robin – What an incredible day! We hope the laughter continued long into the night and that the bouncy castle action didn’t get too messy…

Sarah & Mark’s wedding at Harburn House, West Lothian

From the first time we met Sarah and Mark and heard all their plans for their wedding, we knew it was going to be a seriously fun day. What’s not to love about cocktail-fuelled crazy golf for starters? Add in the rustic barn setting and a sing-a-long to ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ during the ceremony, and the tone for the day was set.

After the ceremony, and a quick round of golf during which we discovered our, until now untapped, caddy skills, we took a drive through the estate and stopped for photos at some great locations along the way. One of the things we love about Harburn is that there’s such a contrast between the rustic feel of the Granary and the elegant Georgian splendour of the main house, and the surrounding grounds are absolutely beautiful too.

Then it was time for the celebrations to really kick off, with speeches that were heartfelt and hilarious in equal measures, a super pretty marquee and lots of great personal touches too. Why are more weddings not penguin themed we are now left wondering? And while the midges had finally gone to sleep, the ceilidh dancing and sparkler fun continued long into the night.

Sarah & Mark – We wish you all the love and happiness in the world! Thanks for welcoming us into your day and for all the laughs and great banter along the way. You guys rocked it!

Jaime & Blake’s wedding at Aldourie Castle, Inverness

There’s something so incredibly beautiful about Loch Ness in the rain – it’s such an atmospheric, intriguing place. And so it was that Jaime and Blake’s wedding day started in true Scottish style, with the clouds slowly lifting throughout the day and the sun finally shining through.

Jaime & Blake are based in the Cayman Islands but chose to return to Jaime’s Scottish roots for their weekend-long celebration. And there was no way they were going to let a little rain or a few (thousand) midges stop them from enjoying the day. Thanks to Aldourie Castle’s extensive wellie collection (and a quick change from Manolos to Hunters!), all were soon suitably equipped to explore the grounds.

It was a perfect day, planned wonderfully (as always!) by the fantastic team at Premier Wedding Planners Scotland, and full of beautiful personal touches. The party that followed was packed with Nessie spotting, whisky, cigars, ceilidh dancing, laughter and a whole lot of love. Ain’t no party like a Scottish Highlands meets Cayman Islands wedding!

Jaime & Blake – We loved being part of your incredible day and capturing all the fun, laughter and great banter along the way! And we hope you forgive us for the souvenir midge bites when you see the photos (itching as I type this at the thought!). #sorrynotsorry we made you go out there…

Natasha & Richard’s wedding at Fasque House, Aberdeenshire

One of our favourite things is when friends of our previous couples ask us to shoot their weddings – it’s a huge compliment and it also means we get to catch up with some very lovely people again. So we were very excited when Natasha & Richard got in touch, and even more so by the fact that this was would be a Scottish-Canadian-Italian celebration (I speak Scottish, Jay speaks Canadian, and we are both good at hand gestures so can usually wing the Italian!).

The fabulous Fasque House in Aberdeenshire was the perfect setting for Natasha & Richard’s weekend-long house party. With its beautiful architecture and vast grounds, we were spoilt for choice for locations, and there was no way that a little rain was going to stop these guys from getting outside for photos. And soon it was time for the ceilidh to begin, which thanks to the talents of Whisky Kiss was delivered in both English and Italian – amazing!

Natasha & Richard – We had a blast photographing your wedding (what a lovely bunch your friends & family are – top banter all around!), and loved catching up with you at the Highland Games too! And we’re still chuckling at your fun facts (#NotSoClassy). Here’s a preview of your beautiful day…

Charlotte & James’ wedding at Fasque House, Aberdeenshire

This was our first time photographing a wedding at Fasque House in Aberdeenshire, and it was a real treat to see inside this wonderful place as I grew up nearby and used to go horseriding in the grounds here as a young girl. Following restoration work, the house looks every bit as beautiful inside as I had always imagined – a fantastic place for a relaxed weekend-long wedding party!

Charlotte & James were married in the quaint church on the grounds – walking down the beech-lined avenue made for quite the entrance. Afterwards the sun shone, the Pimms and laughter flowed, the gorgeous flowers and super pretty styling were admired by all, and the celebrations were in full swing as we took a little walk through the grounds with the newlyweds as the light faded. The perfect end to an incredible day!

Charlotte & James – Thanks for inviting us to be part of your fantastic wedding team! We had the best time with you guys and your wonderful friends and family, and loved capturing all the little moments, and love and laughter along the way. We hope you enjoy these highlights of your day…
