Saturday saw us in the Trossachs – one of our favourite parts of Scotland – to photograph Zoe and Mike’s stunning lochside wedding. Based by Loch Ard, Altskeith House was a fantastic setting for the celebrations.

While Zoe grew up in the area, Mike is originally from South Africa. And together their assembled friends and family represented most, if not all, the continents.

As we arrived at Altskeith, Zoe and Mike were busy putting the finishing touches to the marquee. They then headed off to their separate rooms to get ready…

Zoe’s seasonal bouquet came from a local cutting garden and worked beautifully with the surroundings.

The gorgeous bride! It was Mike’s first time in a kilt and he looked great in it!  The ceremony could not have been more romantic – Zoe and Mike were married under the shadow of Ben Lomond.

And under the watchful gaze of two VIPs in the front row.

Zoe’s dad was fantastic on the fiddle. With scenery like this we were spoilt for choice…
The cheese cake went down a treat!

During the speeches we heard two very different stories of how Zoe and Mike became an item…

And then we took advantage of the golden hour (and braved severe midge attack) for a few more photos before the dancing got underway.

Rather than a traditional first dance, all the guests were invited up to ceilidh.  And before we knew it the night had drawn in and a beautiful day was coming to an end.

Zoe & Mike – It was fantastic sharing in your special (and most gorgeous) day. We hope you enjoy your preview and agree that the midge bites were worth it!

Thanks Jackie. And congratulations on your engagement! C & J

What stunning photos! I stumbled across this website as we will be having our Handfasting in Kinlochard in August 2012. I will be adding this site to my favourites! x

Mike and Zoe,

Exceptional photos for a brilliant day that certainly marks a major milestone in our family tree. Has set the trend at the end of the Shuttleworth boys marriage commitments and has set the highest benchmark. Fortunately no one on our side has to match as it would be impossible. (we need to re-visit the occasion in a year or two) Well done and again thanks.

Regards
Rowan ( Karen and the girls still on holiday)

Jay and Christina, we can’t thank you enough for your contribution to what was just the most perfect day. It was an absolute joy to have you around and while you disappeared mysteriously in to the background for most of the day, you were clearly very busy indeed! We are thrilled with this preview of our photographs – they so perfectly capture the fun and emotion of the day and we can’t WAIT to see more!

Many, many thanks from Zoe & Mike
