Whether you have weeks or months to plan your day, all that really matters is that you are marrying the one you love.

Katie and James had originally planned to get married in Devon next summer, but brought the date forward after finding out he was going to be deployed overseas. Edinburgh seemed like a good fit on such short notice – it’s where they met and James first told Katie he loved her at the Hogmanay fireworks on the esplanade.

They were married in St Margaret’s Chapel at Edinburgh Castle, in a ceremony conducted by James’ dad. After a trip to Mary’s Milk Bar in the Grassmarket for ice-cream, they headed to Aizle. Having sampled the pudding, Jay can confirm that the tasting menu is indeed delicious.

It was one of those days when the weather forecast looked pretty bleak, but – yet again! – things changed and after an atmospheric (aka soggy) start, the skies brightened and the most incredible sunset brought a breathtaking finish to the day.

Katie & James – We are so happy that we got to be part of your Edinburgh wedding! It’s clear that you are perfect together, and something tells us that married life will always be an adventure for the two of you. Christina & Jay x
