We met and fell in love on the slopes of Whistler, British Columbia in 2005. When the season ended, we couldn’t bear to be apart and Jay made the leap and moved to Scotland (he’s my favourite travel souvenir!). We began photographing weddings when we were planning our own, and 10 years on still love the excitement and anticipation as we pack up our gear and set off for each one!
We’re based north of Edinburgh, in Fife, and live in a converted stable with our four year-old daughter, Mila who shares our love of Icelandic road trips (aka midnight troll hunts!), Lego, the outdoors and superheroes.
Jay is obsessed with cycling and dreams of hill climbs and the perfect cake/coffee stop. He likes to sleep under the stars, surrounded by mountains, and loves to chase the perfect landscape photo. Meanwhile, I have a habit of dreaming up new travel plans, am always attempting to improve my (awful) Spanish and can usually be found blogging (I’m an editor over at We Fell In Love), or scribbling away in a notebook when not behind the camera.
Occasionally, we have been known to make an appearance on the other side of the camera. Spending a weekend sampling whisky and generally stuffing our faces on behalf of Visit Scotland was a dream job!
THE ELEMENTAL WAY
We love to explore new places and meet folks from all over the world. From traditional Chinese tea ceremonies to Persian weddings to Celtic handfastings, we thrive on capturing all the atmosphere, energy and emotion of the day. Not to mention those big moves on the dancefloor (dance offs are our favourite!).
